Thanks Chris.

Would you agree that my assumption that Jane WILLSHER ( from 1841 census with George WILLSHER) is the sister to George and daughter of Elizabeth WILLSHER?

If this is the case, with Jane being older than George and born in Beckley, Sussex I am now not sure about a previous 1851 census that you sent me. (on topic Robert/Matilda/ Elizabeth Willsher).

Could I get you to check the 1851 census for Ticehurst area for   Elizabeth WILLSHER born in Beckley please. I would be interested to see how far away Elizabeth Willsher is from Jane Weston?  If it is possible?

Since Jane is born at Beckley, I am wondering if this is Elizabeth WILLSHER (mother of George) in 1851?

Any help would be most appreciated and a great big thanks for the census help etc that you have already given.

Helen

Hi again

1851 for Ticehurst

HO107/ 1639/ Folio 101/ Page 4 - Ticehurst, Sussex

WILLSHER Elizabeth, Head,Widow, 81,Gentlewoman Annuitant, born Beckley
................  Elizabeth, Dau, Unm, 48, Gentlewoman, born Beckley
................  Albert G, GrandSon, Unm, 6, born Etchingham

I am now not sure about a previous 1851 census that you sent me. (on topic Robert/Matilda/ Elizabeth Willsher).
I can only send you / copy out details of what is written in the census enumerators folders, you will need to cross reference it with the entries in the Parish Registers to validate it.

Hi Chris

Thank you for the two Elizabeth Willshers in 1851 census. I will now look to see if I can find when they both die.

Hi

To add to my last reply.

A Elizabeth Willsher died in 1852 in Ticehurst. I think this will be Elizabeth  senior.
A Elizabeth Willsher died in 1872 in Battle. The age is right to be my Elizabeth Willsher.

Is it possible for someone to search the 1861 and 1871 census for a Elizabeth Willsher born in Beckley, Sussex about 1803. She will be 58 and 68 years old.

Many thanks in advance.

Helen

Hi Chris

Thank you for the 1861 and 1871 census for Elizabeth WILLSHER.

I find it very interesting that Elizabeth is with I think her Brother's Brother in law Joseph PETTIT.

Could you possibly re look at the 1861 census -   RG9/ 570/ Folio 20/ Pge 1 - Ticehurst, Sussex and give me the details on Joseph Pettit the widower and his children. He is also I think the father - in law of Elizabeth's nephew ( John Noakes WILLSHER eldest son of Thomas and Lucy WILLSHER).
I would be very grateful.

It is interesting to note that Joseph and Mary Petitt's  daughter Clara is with David and Charlotte WILLSHER in the 1841 Census.

Many thanks
Helen

Hi Chris

Thanks for Joseph Petitt. This looks like the right person as Clara his daughter married John Noakes WILLSHER about 1860.

I think Joseph Petitt is near David and Charlotte WILLSHER in 1841 in Hastings because Clara is with them.

Is it possible to find Joseph and Mary PETITT in 1841 / 1851 census? I was going to do this at a later date because Mary is Charlotte's WILLSHER's sister.

Once again many thanks.

Helen
