Wouldanyone  be able to find Margaret Roddick on Glasgow census for 1841 I don't have a firm birth year for her could be 1820/1828 I think more likely the latter 20s if it is a no find she may be married to a William Walker so would appear under the name Margaret Walker  ::) :) many thanks Terri

the 1841 index has a 28 yr old Margaret Walker with a 28 yr old William Walker living in Bridgeton ... no Margaret Roddick listed

Glasgow South is not a parish name I recognise .... but it could cover several including St. Johns, St Andrews, Gorbals and Tradeston .... there are also several areas which are now on the south side of Glasgow which at that time were independent burghs in their own right (and fiercely independent) e.g. Govan and its unlikely that someone from there would claim to be from Glasgow (many still don't  ;D )
