advice please

hi i am looking for the death of a
helen marshall
sometime in beetween 1848and 1855
i have tried scotlands people but this doesent have  anything in these dates.
is there anywhere else i can look online ,
or do i have to wait till the summer hols and come up to search.

The problem is that pre statutory registration parishes were not obliged to record deaths/burials .... some did while others didn't.

The Parish Records held at the Mirchell Library in North Street may be your only hope. If this draws a blank,they also hold the burial records for a number of cemeteries thar might be worth a loomk, but they're chronological and on microfilm only.

No problem - try to avoid a Satuday, as I'm unsure whether this part of the library is open for the full day. Good Luck!
