I am searching for information on James Sorlie & Margaret Ferguson, married 1770 in Edinburgh, Midloathian, Scotland. They had 3 children, Alexander b 1771, Sholto Douglas b 1772 (both born in Edinburgh Parish, Edinburgh) & Elizabeth b 1775 (christened Westminister, London). Sholto died in 1839 in Leeds West. I would like to know more info about this family while they were in Edinburgh. I was told they were related to the 15th Earl of Morton but I have as yet seen any proof of this.
