FLEMING born TIPPERARY, IRELAND

      I am searching for my Gt:Gt:Grandmother Ann Fleming who according to the 1861 Census was born in Tipperary in 1811  (She is shown as aged 50)

Who were her parents?   Did she have any siblings?

I know she married John Jones born Bosbury, Hereford also born 1811 and
had children but how many.  Only know of my Gt:Grandfather George Edward Jones born 1851 in Westminster, London.

Believe Ann and John married in London.

Could anyone check any other Census for me  -  I would be extremely grateful.

Hi Kate

The '61 census entry also lists a sister Emma 15 yrs bn Winchester, Hants but I can't find any of them in the 51 or 71 census.

The index of Fleming marriages 1837 - 1911 http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~fleming/transcripts.htm has only a handful of  Ann Fleming entries remaining in this period without an identified spouse.
Searching for a John Jones in Freebmd with a GRO reference that matched one of these possibles didn't give any joy either - which further adds to the puzzle.

Does Fleming come from George Edward Jones' birth certificate?

Many thanks for your reply.

I am looking at George Edward Jones' Birth Certificate and it clearly states
Father:  John Jones.   Mother:  Ann Jones formerly FLEMING.   He was born
14th October 1851.  St Margaret Westminster, County of Middlesex.
They were living at 43 Castle Lane, Westminster at the time.  It makes me
more certain that Ann came to London to marry John - what do you think?

If this is the case then I shall have to request a Look-up of Census for the
London area and hope that someone can oblige.

I just found him in the 1851 census: the whole family have been indexed as James, not Jones

    Hi Ru,

Well, who would have thought of them being named as James!. 

Thanks for all your help, this has certainly given me a good lead.  Now I have
to find out where I can obtain Baptism/Birth details of Ann Fleming from.
In the meantime I will try and get Birth Certificates for the children.
