Hi searchers

Is there a local researcher with easy access to The Poole Museum with its Family History Centre? 

A little help to locate the baptism record ca. 1805 at St James's Poole for John BOND BENNETT,   son of James and Sarah (Bond) BENNETT, would be much appreciated.

Where should I begin to search for the records of Poole fish merchant, John SLADE ca. 1788-1792 the business later became Earle & Sons.   This would help with current work on the Newfoundland settlement.

Last questions....is The Priory, Christchurch in Dorset and where are their parish registers?

I am not local and have little knowlege of Dorset (I am in Australia) but many roots in Dorset.

I have found some information online via the Online Parish Clerks for Dorset

It also seems to me that most of the Parish records are with the Dorset Records office - now called, I think - Dorset History Centre http://www.dorsetforyou.com/index.jsp?articleid=2203

According to genuki, the priory Church is in Dorset, although the reference comes up with hampshire

Many thanks for your reply to my questions, and I am most grateful for the weblinks you have listed.  Specially pleased to confirm the location of the parish records for The Priory, Christchurch. 

This time last year I was in Queensland and NSW...loved every minute of my visit.

I'm not sure where you come from Jean - but this time this year Qld is a little too hot for me
