1891 Census
« on: Monday 20 September 04 13:49 BST (UK) »
After syphoning off about half my Letley's from the 1891 census through Ancestry, I'm now trying to put them into my tree.  Would anybody be able to tell me what an address is?  It's in St Pancras in London ... I don't know if it's Great College Street or something like that.  Maybe somebody could look at the previous page, the enumerator might have put it in full there.  The reference number is RG12/129/(forgot to get folio number)/page 8.

Dunn, Yorkshire/Kent,
Garrett, Kent
Petyt, Yorkshre/Kent
Sheehan, Ireland/Kent
Summersett, Kent
Webb, Kent

Thanks a lot Nicky ... it's nice to be reassured sometimes isn't it.  Do you fancy having a look at this one?  It's the second address I'm interested in.  Reference RG12/654/?/76.

Kind regards
Jen.

I googled "Montford Strood" and found a Montford Road and a Montford Avenue. The de Montfords were large land owners in Kent long ago.
Southern or Southan [Hereford , Monmouthshire & Glos], Jenkins, Meredith and Morgan [Monmouthshire and Glos.], Murrill, Damary, Damry, Ray, Lawrence [all Middx. & London], Nethway from Kenn or Yatton. Also Riley and Lyons in South Africa and Riley from St. Helena.

Thanks for that Hackstaple, I'm still not sure what it is though, it doesn't look like road or avenue to me.

Sorry - I thought the problem was with reading Montford. The address is Montford Cottages.

Sorry Hackstaple, I put that bit in so people could see it said Montford.  It actually goes 2 Montford Cottages, then next schedule is Brompton Lane 1 Montford ?????, then next schedule 2 do do etc.  I didn't mean to confuse you all!!!
