Hi everyone

Elena Pickford born 1907 in Congleton, is there any one out there who knows of any descendent's. Or does the name ring any bells in your Pickford family.

Hi,
I'm looking for a Mary-Ann Pickford born 1827 in Congleton
she married My Gt Grandfather William Challenor who used to have a barge running from Wolverhampton to that area
I have found them in the 1881 census and their family, but I can't find  either of their  parents, I dont know if this is the same family as yours but it seems very probable,  Mike

Thanks Peter,
Everything there checks out ok, but I dont seem to get back any further, the parentage of both Mary and William's side of family, I think the only way is I will have to send for their Birth certificates, would you know where I have to send  for them, and what the cost is for each,
Thanks for your help Peter, Best regards Mike

Hi

In order to get further back I would suggest you find a marriage for Mary Ann and William and order that certificate, then we will have some fathers names to search.

Not sure where the Holbrook name comes from, was the mother married before William ?

For any BMD in Cheshire I allways the Cheshire BMD http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/  first find your BMD and by clicking on the ref number you can print of a application.

For others I use the 1837. online site which enables you(having found your references)  to order online.

good luck
