Have fun in Ruthin Gaol - make sure they let you out again!!!  You will find Mr Thomas there extemely helpful & there's not much he can't find. He's also very good at decipehering the old handwriting you can't always make head or tail of. While you are there visit the Red Lion at Cyffilliog (hope that's right) I've stayed there, the food's fab & they're open as long as someone's in the bar!  Mo

You're welcome - you could stay at the Red Lion if you haven't already got fixed up. It's in a lovely spot not far from Ruthin & you can find it listed on Smoothound - tell them Mo the dancer sent you!!!  Have a good & fruitful trip  Mo

Thanks again Mo

I was looking around on Smooth Hound and found a B&B about 1/2 mile form the Tyn y caeau farm. So I e-mailed them to ask, who was on the farm now.
That is a good site to check for lodgings.

No probs - glad you liked smoothound I use it a lot as I can specify somewhere that I can take my dog with me & I've found some lovely places to stay. It's especially good if it has helped you with where your ancestors lived - an unexpected bonus! When I stayed at the Red Lion somone in there pointed me towards a graveyard where I might find some of mine buried but I haven't had time to go yet.  I usually tie my Records Office trips in with my dance comps & I was on the way to the British Champs in Prestatyn at the time so I only had time to go to the Gaol. I'm off to the Midlands in May as I've got a comp in Stoke & a kind person on the Rowley Regis site has offered to give me a guided tour of the places my family lived. I've got Jones & Morris on both sides so it's doubly difficult and any help is very gratefully received! I'll be going to Ruthin again next December so let me know if you need anything else looked up then. Regards Mo

Hi  Mo

Thanks for your look-up offer, I guess we'll have to see how well, we do ourselves.
Good luck in your searching.
