Hello,

Thats great stuff, John and Annie  :)

Trying to peice together my Penketh's and i'm at that annoying point, were you have isolated people who you know are related to you. You just can't link them back.
Take JOHN PENKETH who is buried in the same grave plot as Ellen Penketh and her family (Married name Jackson) - This JOHN PENKETH died in 1907 aged 33 in Prescot district.
None of the John Penketh matches on 1881 census, age wise are any help. With Thomas' and James' for fathers, but I ain't got no such gentlemen in the Penketh family tree.

So indeed Annie, every little snippet helps. That poor James met an unforunate end.
Penketh is not a bad name to search in the right area. I reckons if I collect enough 'snippets' of St Helens Penketh's - I'll have enough to make some sense of it all.

Thanks again

John, You seem to have solved and filled a little question mark that has hung over the Penketh tree...

Now Catherine has a maiden name and they both have a date and place for their marriage. Plus added bonus of witnesses. Also explains the age gap between them, he already having been married.

Merry Christmas to you both
