Charles Atkin Census Look up

Hi Heather I have now been through all the information you have found for me and there is one descrepancy which I thought you may be able to help on.

In the 1881 and 18791 Census Charles Atkin claims to have been born in Girton, Nottinghamshire in 1830; whilst in the 1871, 1861 and 1851 census he claims to be born in 1827 in Fenton, Lincolnshire.  I know these places aren't more than 10 to 15 kms apart but does it strike you as odd that this difference should occur?  Do you know where I might be able to find his birth records to check which is the correct date and place?

Hi Darren,

Well this is where it gets harder as you go further back   It also doesn't help when they aren't consistent about birthplace on the census! Have you tried the IGI at familysearch.org? I don't have access to other Lincolnshire records.

But these could be his parents in 1841. Sorry, my copy is terrible and I can't make out the last name, but ...

Elizabeth is down as 45 (so is William) and the last child is called Thomas age 9.
