Do you have any other information ?
forenames / dates / address's
do you have the families in any census ?

PS The correct spelling is 'Ystradyfodwg' ;)

I have a john Phillips in my tree born in ystrad in 1891. I am still in the process of tracing the rest of the names. There was a thomas phillips and a gwen phillips. The name is so common up there that you may have problems finding who you are looking for unless you can trace some names back via family or birth/marriage certificates. I have had to ask for a lot of help with mine even when i have known a fair few details
Previously - Badgirl
Thomas-Llangynwyd
Morgan-Garw / Sirhowy
Richards - Bettws
Philips - Rhondda
Pinn - London

Dear All who replied,

I do indeed have info on the Allens.
It is such a family mystery and a very very long story, but briefly, we thought the Allens were my Grabfathers parents, grandparents etc, but discovered this week, there not!
So i have applied for his birth cert to ascertain who are!
My Grandafther was Thomas John Jones, born 1/7/1918, to either a Phillips or Tucker.(mothers maiden name)
The allens are:
David, who was 46 in the 1901 census, his wife mary who was 49, david J who was 21, james who was 19, Caroline who was 13, and mary maria who was 6. This is the lady who we thought was his mother.
There was also a Thomas J Lewis who was 8 and is down as the grandson.
They all lived at 161 Ynyscynon Road.
Mary died in 1925, and I have the interment for her death, along woth her mothers and fathers, as they were all buried in the same plot.
Unfortunately they have her age wrong, so she is down as being 35 at her time of death, when she was actually 31.
Mary Marias husband was a Thomas Jones, and they resided at 46 Hendrecafan Road Penygraig.
It was James (her brother) who registered her death.
This is most of the info I have till the birth cert comes through, but hope this may help you to help me!

Kind Regard,

Colleen
