Rewers 1891 Poplar Census
« on: Saturday 28 January 06 21:06 GMT (UK) »
My grandfather John Rewers was a merchant seaman in London in 1891.  Can you find him for me in the Poplar area?  Perhaps because he was at sea a lot he might not have been counted.  He married in Aug. of 1891.  His wife Charlotte Liston was at 134 Teviot St. at the time of census, waitress, inn aged 28.

Hello, Janine.

I could find nothing in the 1891 census for John (Gustave) Rewers so would say he was more than likely at sea.

I did find him in the 1901 census with wife Charlotte & son John age 8.  John snr was said to have been born at sea, a Swedish subject.  Do you have details, if not I can send a transcription.
