1841 Census Lookup
« on: Saturday 28 January 06 21:17 GMT (UK) »
Hello all,

I have recently requested an 1841 census look-up for a William Parsons b. 1833 in Swallowfield, parents John and Hannah, but have had no replies ... I am in Australia and am wondering if I'm posting my request to the correct board - Is Swallowfield still in Berkshire or does it now come under another area?

Would appreciate any advice on this.

Much thanks,
Gail

Gail,

Swallowfield is in Berkshire so you have posted to the correct board.

I think most (if not all) of the 1841 census reproductions are images only and do not include an index, therefore all searches have to be carried out manually.

Harry,

Thank you for your reply - so that's why nobody with a CD has offered a look-up!

Another question? I'd like to pay for a  birth look-up - it appears to cost about 2 pounds but don't quite know how to organise paying in English pounds from Australia - any ideas?

Again, thank you - any advice on tracking this PARSONS/WELLS family would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Gail
