1831 Cornish Census
« on: Tuesday 31 January 06 18:59 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I have just seen some posts regarding an 1831 census.  I did not realise that this exsisted!

Which areas does it cover?  I am interested in Manaccan, Sithney, Germoe and Crowan.

Thanks
Pippa

There were censuses before 1841, but few survive.  They were for the most part statistics-gathering only, but in some areas lists of heads of household remain, here's info on pre-1841 censuses in Devon:

So far all my googling has only revealed that the 1821 for Veryan is still about, nothing more.
