Hello from New Zealand .

I am researching the family surname Real  and the Irish connections . My interest is in finding info and details on my G G Grandfather/ Mothers links.

Here are the details I have ..   G Grandfather  Philip Real b Limerick 1864 , Emigrated to NZ on Zealandia  1879 with his mother Johanna Real  b Limerick  and his sister Mary Real b Limerick 1857   Philip's father was  Micheal Real  and mother Johanna Real ne Frawley , both b Limerick , I have no d or ages . I am trying to research their details etc ..  Micheal did not emigrate . 3 other siblings from the marriage did   John b Limerick 1853 , James b Limerick b Limerick 1850 and Micheal b Limerick 1854 . They emigrated to NZ in 1875 on the Waimate.

Micheal Real  the father of these siblings did not emigrate . I presume he died prior to 1879 in Limerick , when Johanna and my G G Philip and sister Mary emigrated to join the others in NZ .

I am wanting to trace back from that point .. and would be grateful for any help, assistance or info on the details etc of Johanna and Micheal Real . The marriage cert for my G Grandfather Philip just gives as parents , Johanna Frawely and Micheal Real b Limerick Ireland ..

Thanks kindly and would appreciate any assistance ..

Hello, my grandmother was born in Hospital, Limerick and maiden name was Theresa Margaret Real.  Born 1st June 1922. Do you think this could be a link?

Thomas Real died on 24 February 1971. He resided at Knockaney Road, Hospital, Co Limerick and died aged 84 yrs at St Columcille's Hospital, Killiney, Dublin.

Ellen (Helena) Real died 21 April 1953 at Coolalough. Her son Tom was the informant.

every second person in Hospital is surnamed Real/Reale (sometimes spelled Ryall)
