Address - Hospital or home? - COMPLETE

Hi all,

I have come across the address "2154 Gartloch Road" on a death certificate from 1944, District of Provan, Glasgow.  Does anyone know if this is/was the address of a hospital at the time?  There is a 'usual address' given of Greenside Street, which I can see from maps is not far away.  It is also given as the address of the deceased's son, who is the informant, so I am guessing that she died in a hospital.

Can anyone help?

It looks likely that it was Gartloch Hospital.

It is now being built into luxury flats (a shame as it is a stunning building)

Hi Clare if you have MSN, and do a search for 2154 Gartloch Road Glasgow there is a couple of sites that mention that it could be a Hospital

I have searched a little on Gartloch Hospital and it does look that this is likely.  I hadn't heard of it before, so thanks for the pointers.
