Hi
Was it an adult death? If so the key would be age on death cert, you could then trace back (but only if you knew the birthplace!) through parish records or if it was a child through the 1841 census where they'd be listed . Apart from that I can't really help as before the 1841 census the only way of tracking is through parish registers.
Does any of this make sense?

it was just a name i came across whilst on ancestry.com
seemed a coincidence that was all.

isabel hasker was a descendants wifes name she was born around 1751,
and george hasker swinney died in spittal around 1845  thought he may have been a son / grandson.

the whole family lived in the spittal / tweedmouth areas (quite a few still do)

Hi
I have been doing some research into George Hasker Swinney B1845 in Liverpool? who is one of my ancestors who I had located a death certificate in Berwick in 1846, aged 9 months? Mother was Jane, but I do not know her maiden name, or husbands name, although it might be William.

Jane had 2 further sons John and Robert. Robert married Ellen Stewart and I believe then moved to Sunderland. I believe she remarried

I am trying to find Jane's husband who I think may be linked to your questions.
Thanks

Hi again
I have found information at the archives office in Berwick which shows I believe that William married a second time.

Margaret died 1810

William remarried in 1815 to Ann Brown
2 sons - John Swinney and George Hasker Swinney, I think that William already had 2 sons from his first marriage of the same name.

Henry F was a son from his first marriage

Regards
