I am looking for information on the Proffitt Family from Scotland. The name proffitt can be spelt in many different ways bit I know that William Profit was a witness to the signing of a charter in Abdereen Scotland in 1281 and that they possibly came from the Picts.
I wold be greatful for information that would help as I live in New Zealand
