Where is Caerlloi Parish, Llanfihangel!?
« on: Monday 06 February 06 12:27 GMT (UK) »
I've just obtained a birth certificate for Robert Davies.
The birth was registered in Gwyddelwern but the certificate states that he was born in the Caerlloy Parish of Llanfihangel, his mother was also from that parish.

Has anyone any idea where this is?

I can't find it on any map, there are at least 14 Llanfihangels so this doesn't really help my search!

Hi there,

The area you are talking about is situated in north Wales,in Denbighshire.Historically, however, and prior to local government reorganisation,it was in Meirionethshire.

The Llanfihangel is Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr which is situated on the B5105 beteween Ruthin and Cerrigydrudion.Gwyddelwern is on the A494 bet Ruthin and its junction with the A5 at Tyn y Cefn, just outside of Corwen.

Hope that helps........... :)

Brilliant, Thank you.

Now I just need to find them on the 1851 census...
