Edinburgh BDM records surname Elliott.

I am looking for a birth/christening of Elizabeth Elliott. Born aprox 1851.
in Dalsy Edinburgh Scotland.

Also Elizabeth Sewell  daughter of above and William Sewell. Born approx 1869. in Leith Edinbrugh Scotland.


Also Marriage between Elizabeth Elliott and William Sewell.  my guess is that they married in 1869 or before. in the same area as Elizabeth Elloitt's birth.

If anyone could look these up
I would be really greatfull.

Elizabeth Sewell was born 22 Feb 1869 in Leith.

Marriage doesn't show up on the IGI but if you search ScotlandsPeople you should find it.  Alternatively, view the record of ELizabeth's birth on the same site and it will tell when and where her parents married.

I suspect the place in Edinburgh is Dalry, found near Haymarket.

Civil registration didn't begin in Scotland until 1855 so for your birth of Elizabeth the IGI is a good starting point. if you can't find her there, you could check on ScotlandsPeople - pay to view.

The civil records for Scotland 1855 - 1875 are also on the IGI so you should find your marriage and the birth of Eliz jnr there. They would also be on ScotlandsPeople & you can load down certificate images for 5 credits (1 pound)

There is no marriage for a William Sewell on SP between 1865 and 1870. I thought it should have been on the IGI so perhaps the spelling is a problem.
