Alexander Cordell

For anyone with ancestors in South Wales during the 1700's and the 1800's I would highly recommend that they read the novels of Alexander Cordell. They give you a wonderful 'feel' of where and how our ancestors were living at the time, how their communities worked, how their lives were affected by changes in industry etc.

Nice tip, Amy !
Having lived in Wales for 6 years, I was used to the accent, and when I was reading these books, I "imagined" the dialogues in the book with a welsh accent.
Lovely reading !

I read "How green was my valley" many years ago, but I can't remember much of it now. Wasn't that also about Wales, but a different class of people, a doctor maybe ?
