There are 3 entries on family search - 2 are submitted (meaning others are also researching your man). The final one is extracted from parish records, so it gives the actual place of baptism and the baptism date rather than birth date.
DAVID COX  Christening:  10 MAY 1783   St John, Deritend And Bordesley, Warwick, England
Father:  JOSEPH COX  Mother:  FRANCES
Batch C069811  1699 - 1869  Film 0588406

If you click on the batch number and then look for children with the name cox and parents Joseph and Frances, you will find 2 siblings Maria(1782) and your David (1783).

To check if there are any siblings born in a different parish, you can do a parent search. Put  Joseph Cox in father, Frances in mother and then select the dates and location you wish to check. (I didn't find any others).

There is also the parents marriage on the IGI

JOSEPH COX Spouse:  FRANCES WALFORD   25 NOV 1779   Aston Juxta Birmingham, Warwick, England
Batch M011682  1754 - 1813  Film 0919794-796

Hi Sue,
Did you know there are quite a few of his paintings held by the Tate?  Here is a link http://www.tate.org.uk/servlet/ArtistWorks?cgroupid=999999961&artistid=117&page=1
which I hope works (in the light of my recent links that have been duds!!  ;D )

Have you been in touch with Hereford Record office ?
He lived in Hereford and theer are a number of his paintings in public ownership in the City.

There are a nu,ber of people who know a lot about him around in the area and it may be there is an article in the Transactions of the Woolhope CLub of Hereford, and you can check that at the City library.

Hello, I am a member of the Cox family (David Cox).  My grandfather was Ernest Arthur Cox. My great aunt was Maud Theresa Cox (Moseley).  She always told me that I was David Cox's great great ad infinitum granddaughter, although it appears it may be through his daughters.  I remember visiting my uncle Cuthbert Cox (Prof) many years ago.  My mother was Alice Marguerite Salisbury (nee Cox) and her sister, my aunt Beryl Lilian Flowers (nee Cox).  Although I was born and registered in Meriden and lived, until my marriage in Coventry, my aunt and uncle and myself used to visit great aunt Maud Cox every other weekend.  She lived in Sandhurst Road, Moseley, the family having moved there after being bombed out during the Second World War.  As far as I remember all of the Cox clan were well educated and took up professional occupations. If I can be of any help, (I hold the Cox/Cashmore Genealogy tree) please contact me.
