Walker - Toronto 1915ish
« on: Thursday 09 February 06 11:57 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I'm trying to trace the following although I have very little information to go on which comes from a naturalisation document (of Sarah Ann's mother) dated 1915 where the current marial status and whereabouts is noted for her children.  In it there is ...

Maurice Walker and wife Sarah Ann, born 24th January 1870 Stepney.
Maurice is noted as an Ironworks Foreman, and residing in Toronto Canada.

I have no idea when they went to Canada as haven't found their marriage cert yet.  Nor do I have any idea about any children.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards

Any idea what Sarah's maiden name was?

There is a death registration for a Sarah Walker in 1926 in Guelph which is where one of those Maurice Walker is buried.  The informant is a son, WR Walker.

Ohhh, does that ever look like an easy name to misspell!

There was a few Iron Works Factories (I lived across the street from one growing up) in Guelph, maybe Maurice being in the Iron game went there for work?

Found a Maurice Walker awefully young, tho...but my grandfather was 11 years my Gma's junior...and a few Sarahs of right age...Hard to know without age of Maurice...

hopefully the 1911 will reveal more once fully transcribed?  J..J.
