O'Connell & Sharp

My 3 x Great Grandparents were married in St Nicholas Church, Cork on 14 Sep 1845. They were Thomas O'Connell and Elizabeth Sharp.  I know nothing of their origins apart from the fact they came from Cork. Their daughter Elizabeth was born in 1849, presumably in Cork. They went to India at some stage where Thomas served with the 3rd Madras Fusiliers and died or was killed in about 1868. I would be grateful if anyone has any information on their Cork roots.
