Can you help me find a needle in a haystack? My Great Grandfather Henry Smith (born 1870 ish - father John Smith) was married in Gateshead to Pauline Jane Robson. My grandmother was their youngest daughter Sarah Elizabeth. I've found Henry and Pauline on the 1891 and 1901 census in Durham, but  I can't find Henry on the 1881 in Yorkshire or Durham. I have him (I think) on the 1871 census born at UPSAL ( the durham census for 1901 describes his birthplace as NUPOAL MOOR)  - I know its a long shot but has anyone come across him, or can help me? - My grandma and grandad moved south in 1936 - and I'd love to find out more about the man who gave my mum sixpence for talking "all swanky" when they visited -  Cheers Sadietoo
