This has also happened to a friend of mine & we found the only solution was to use the

Search Results   button to return to the list of finds. This is on LHS towards the top of the page underneath the heading IGI Individual Record

Trish

I used to use Netscape Guy, but sadly found too many sites I needed to access were set up to use IE only. Very annoying

Hi

Thanks everyone for your responses. It seems that more than one person suggests using Firefox, with which I'm not currently acquainted but will find out more. Some folk blame the virus checker and others the browser so I guess it's a trade-off. I will try Firefox and run it alongside until I'm sure it's superior then I may dump IE. Thank you again for your combined knowledge and experience  :)

I'm having exactly the same problem >:(

I find the comments about Firefox, Netscape etc interesting, and had no idea the Internet Explorer was such a security risk.

I think I'll have to spend some time looking into the possibilities of changing from IE.

Thanks for the advice.

I'm not sure that this is anything to do with Norton

I'm inclined to agree with Casa on this one..........I haven't changed anything in my Norton security and never had any problems with the LDS site before.

The LDS site seems totally down at the moment. Is that right or is it just me?

As a Firefox user I have to admit that some of the scare stories concerning the security of Internet Explorer are a little OTT. (current security bulletins re possible dangers have seen the majority issued concerning Firefox and netscape - 7 - to 1 for Internet Explorer)

The primary advantages of Firefox are (for me anyway)
Tabbed Browsing
it seems faster than IE
I can add whichever utilities I want not what someone else thinks I should have (and never use)

The disadvantages .... are relatively minor
It doesn't display all tables the way the page designer intended
some css pages can be "interesting"

However as more and more people use these alternative browsers they have been catered for by institutions such as banks etc. It remains to see whether IE7 will restore Microsofts total domination. (I doubt it)

PS I think LDS is down as it only returns a server not found error page.

Hi

Have just downloaded and run the Firefox browser. Ooh, it' fast isn't it?! Also, I have just accessed the LDS site, done a search and gone 'back' successfully to the search page as I originally queried so I'm impressed. Now to try out all the others bookmarks and see how it behaves. What a nice change from IE though so thanks for the tip one and all. I'm happy.

Cheers, Karen
