Advice needed.
« on: Monday 13 February 06 09:57 GMT (UK) »
Hi All,

I looked on the directory enquries site last night, and found someone  living at Ynyscynon road, Penygraig.

Nothing unusual in that but my ancestors are of the same surname.  My grandfathers mothers maiden name was the same as the people now living there and he was born at the same address on Ynyscynon Road, Penygraig.
I know it could be just coincidence, but I am not sure.
I was thnking of ringing them, and basically asking them who they are related to lol.
Should I do it?

Hi Col,

If it were me I would not ring, bit on the spot...it could work out..but there again may frighten them off.  I would write explaining, not everyone see's family history as we do!
Include your contact details and see what happens...if not no harm done.

p.s. I do not know a Ynyscynon Rd in Penygraig, only the Trealaw/Tonypandy area.  It is a very long road that stretches through Trealaw...very near to Tonypandy, ends before Llwynypia.  This is my local knowledge...have also checked the valleys street altlas.

hope this helps some

I contacted them, and turns out the wife thinks her husbands grandmother is my grandads cousin.
She gonna grill him tonight and get in touch.

How cool is that!!
