I have Middletons in my tree too, starting in Staffordshire, working mainly as Blacksmiths, travelling up through Derbyshire and some ended up in Lincolnshire, while others went to Yorkshire. I dont recognise any of the names so far, but just wanted to note my interest in this post in case some familiar names crop up :-)

I have looked on England and Wales Death index 1984-2004 -there is a big gap from where FreeBMD have got up to and this index-but have listed one's who are possibilities(assuming he died after 1984 of course!)

Hello, My father was called Ronald Cyril Middleton - I say father but I never really knew him. He was born in Kegworth on 3 May 1911, and yes he was a petty crook and a bigamist. I last saw him in North Wales in 1963 in Llandudno North Wales. He worked as an electrician and TV engineer. My Mother was called Daphne Pescod and he had 3 children with her (including me) I know he also had a family in the Derby area.

If we are indeed looking for the same chap he was indeed very illusive. I'm 52 now and I guess the time is right for me to put some ghosts to rest and find some answers. By the way my name is Alan but he gave me the middle name John.....any ideas? Kind Regards.
