Woodeaton House, Oxfordshire

I am trying to find someone who is  researching the family tree of either John & Catherine Weyland who were the owners of Woodeaton Manor mid to late 1800's or someone who worked as one of their servants.

I am researching my Gt Grandmother, Isabel, her parents and grandparents. Her Grandfather, William Whiteman, worked as a butler at Woodeaton Manor. He appears there on the 1871 & 1881 census.

Family rumour has it that Isabel was an illegitimate child!

Around the time Isabel was born (1892), William and his wife and daughter moved away to Bournemouth. William's daughter, Louisa, then raised Isabel.

Louisa never married and on the 1901 census, Isabel is down as William's niece.

I have found a record of her birth and will be applying for the certificate soon to see what it says!
I would be interested if anyone has any information!
