1841 Census Lookup Request Please For George Rossiter

Hi,

I am looking for information please about the parents, wife and siblings of George Rossiter born in Sherborne circa 1837.

I am informed that he married Jane ( born Sherborne circa 1836 maiden name unknown) and that they had three children:-
 
Mary Jane born Sherborne circa 1859
George born Adminston 1868
Arthur born Weymouth 1869.

I can't find a marriage record on FreeBMD.

I believe they emigrated to Canada in the early 1880's.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Hi rcuser,

Could this be your family in 1841?   

It is the only one I can find with a George Rossiter of the right age (the next nearest George was 10) living in Dorset, although Child Okeford is about 13 miles from Sherborne?  No Rossiter family is indexed under 'Sherborne' in 1841.

Thanks for that. George born 1837 was a coachman so we're on the right track.

Love the humour regarding the maiden name!! LOL!!

Is "Jas" the abbreviation for James? or is it Jonas?

with relation to the maiden name iam wondering if janes mother married twice as i cant find them on an earlier cencus antwhere
