LOVELOCK - New Bushey
« on: Thursday 16 February 06 08:59 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me i am trying to trace the Lovelock family.
The info i have at the moment is that Bert (albert) Lovelock married a Mary Trott in 1909 his address being in New Bushey.
His fathers name is Richard Lovelock and was a horse keeper, i think Bert (albert) was born about 1886.
Thank you alison

Hi Arranroots,
Thanks for the reply, the info that i have been given by the family doesn't tally up, but they do mention Euston which means there could be a connection.

Hi
The info i was given was by one of my husbands relatives and she told us that Bert lovelock was born in 1854 in Euston and that he married Mary Trott. On finding their marriage cert. i discovered that Bert was 23 yrs old so could not have been born in 1854 as she said  (also it meant he was in his 70 when my husbands grandfather was born!)
I always thought that Bert was a shorten version of Albert and so followed that line with not much success.
The other bit of info she gave us was she thinks is the Lovelocks originated from Cornwall.

There is no (Al)bert LOVELOCK , or variant spellings born 1854 +/- 5 years - anywhere in the country.

Interestingly the family posted above also had an older son Albert and both were alive at the same time!  They had an additional 4 children to those mentioned above.

I can trace both of these families back to 1851 and they are firmly rooted in Middlesex and Hertfordshire respectively.

The most LOVELOCKS found in Cornwall in in 1901 when there are 20 and the lease 1861 when there were 6 - they must have been moving in rather than out!!

Something wrong somewhere?

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

Happy to help you Alison, but you are confusing the life out of me, LOL!!  ;D

You posted for LOVELOCK - but you say you now have them?

Do you have any certificates yet?  The marriage cert for LOVELOCK/ TROTT would give fathers' names & occupations and ensure you are following the correct lines.

Why don't you post what you have found and we can see where to go next?

You are right about hearsay, hence the need to confirm the facts in easy steps as we go along.

Will wait to hear from you

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

Hi
I have got the marriage cert for Mary and Bert lovelock, Mary fathers name is Charles Trott and was a coachman that was in 1909.
I found him on the 1891 census but the trail went cold.
You quoted that you could trace both families back to 1851 hence i asked for your help as my trail seemed to go cold.
I have applied for Mary Trotts birth cert and await its arrival.
Sorry if i have confused you.
