morton family born great orton

Hi would like any infomation about a thomas morton and his wife  nancy (edger?)who were living in kirkandrews on eden area in 1901, could have been living at beaumont? would like to find any living relatives or anyone else researching this family, thomas's parents were a james and sarah,

Had a quick look at the Baptism records for Great Orton.
William baptised Dec 26th 1847
Thomas baptised September 9th 1849
Frances baptised August 3rd 1851

Could not find anymore before that checked from 1813.

Did find two Morton families living at Great Orton in 1851 Census.


Farmer of 100 acres. employing 2 men.
James Morton age 32 born Aikton, farmer
Sarah Morton age 30 born Kirkbampton
Children
John age 4years
William age 3 years
Thomas age 1 years

Also

William Morton age 80 years, Chelsea Pensioner born WES - Lowther
Charlotte Morton age 74 years from Workington.

There where MANY wills for the Morton family name at Carlisle Archives, too many to list.

    thanks for the info that certainly looks like them on the census,will have to try to get to the records office but i work full time i wish they would open on a night or weekend !!
  but at least i know where i will be on my next day off !!

You can park in the carpark beside the Castle, just a few minutes walk.
