Does anyone have the 1841 census for Alfreton by any chance?
Im looking for a Thomas Tissington born c.1823...

Hi Alison

The only Thomas TISSINGTON that I can find on the Derbyshire 1841 index is aged 50.  He is living at Alfreton with wife Matilda and children.

If you think there could be a connection (seems likely) and you would like the full details let me know.

As per your PM, here is the full entry.

The 41 does not record marital status, relationships within families or exact place of birth. It only indicates whether or not someone was born in the census county.  Adult ages are often rounded to nearest 5.

thanks - oh wel it doesnt look as if my thomas with this thomas' son does it?! My thomas should have been born in about 1823 so he should be on here - unless he was really a john thomas....or he'd moved out beofre he was 18...he was an iron moulder though
