Yes, and as ecksdochter points out, there is a nearby farm called Foxton. The two farms are almost adjacent to each other. It's interesting that the Scots word "tod" was chosen for one and the English equivalent "fox" for the other.

Hi Sandy,
Not off the top of my head I’m afraid. Believe it or not, I’ve still got all the farm ledgers stashed somewhere, I could try having a look through them for you? My grandmother, Grace Maureen Bell remembered playing with the grieve and other workers kids and I’m sure my great, great aunt and uncles did aswell. It was my grumpy grandad when he took over the farm that put a stop to the tradition!

I don't see him in 1841 (well not anyone fitting his age) i.e. it's possible he too was at Todhall in 1841?

There were many children born to his parents George Cheape & Lillias Guthrie which may be of help?
