Bessie ACKERMAN born Charlton Mackrell
« on: Saturday 18 February 06 12:18 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I'm looking for any info on Bessie Ackerman - in 1901 she is married to Lincoln Cox and living in Butleigh and it says she was born 1874 in Charlton Mackrell.
Any info would be great,
Thanks,
Angela. :)

Hi Claire,
Thanks for looking up the info.
I notice that her birth name is Acreman not Ackerman.
A friend has looked in Taunton records office and on her marriage certificate her father is William.
I'll post a request on lookup page to see if can find her family - I can't find her 1881.
Thanks again,
Angela. :) :)

unfortunately i cannot find baptism for bessie but i think this could be a sibling-
edward acreman bapt 22nd oct 1871 parents william and mary ann acreman cary fitzpaine/charlton mackerell.fathers occupation labourer.
there is also a alice lucy bapt 25th dec 1869 to same parents.
hmmmmmmm do this family have a connection with australia??
because there is an earlier baptism for william james haywood acreman on 5th may 1867 and notes say husband away in australia.
regards
alli

Hi Alli,
Thanks for the info.
I have posted a lookup request for Bessie and had interesting results - as three ways of spelling surname!!
I don't know about an Australian link as just started to research Bessie (my great gran) but I will post another request this time for 1861 and see what comes up!!
Yes, according to the 1881 & 1871 returns you are looking at the right family - thanks.
Just wondered where you are finding out about the baptisms?
Thanks again for your help,
Cheers
Angela :) :)

a bit late to make contact - see under Acreman on www.butleigh.org and also look under Cox
