Thanks for that information Peter, i was sure Henry must have died but couldnt find the record of it anywhere online!!

If you are able to view the Kings Walden Parish Records i was wondering if you would be able to look into something for me (AGAIN)!!!

I know from the 1841 census (which you found aswell) that William dimmock lived with his family in White Hall kings walden and with him lived his mother Elizabeth Dimmock aged 79.  Im trying to see if i can find her marriage? and Williams fathers name etc.  so that i can try and find nay other children and such like.  I cant find the birth of William on the IGI, so possible  his birth would tell us his parents? im sure he was born in kings walden (or possible kimpton) around 1797 and like i say from the 1841 census i gather his mother was Elizabeth.  Anything you can find would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks
Sarah

With regard to Elizabeth Dymock/Dimmock -
I have found christenings for Sarah Dimmock 1775, Katherine Dimmock 1784 and Anne Dimmock 1778 all children of Michael Dimmock and Elizabeth. and the marriage of a SArah Dimmock to William Hammett in 1798.
The only William i can find (looking for bn c1797 in Kimpton) is bn Kimpton 1799 to Sarah Dimmock!!
???  However the William im looking for should have been son of Elizabeth! anybody got any clever ideas? or better research then me?

Since relationships aren't given on the 1841 census you can't be sure Elizabeth was William's mother - she could for instance have been an aunt. Neither unfortunately do you have status, so you don't know whether Elizabeth was married, widowed or single. You could hopefully ascertain her status from her death certificate as well as her age.

The National Burial Index gives this information about Elizabeth

12th March 1844 Elizabeth DIMMOCK 92   Herts King's Walden, St Mary

If this age instead of the census is her correct age this would give Elizabeth a birth year of circa 1752. She would have been 45 in 1797.

Other Dimmock burials in King's Walden 1800-1851 on the National Burial Index were

23rd March 1825 Mary DIMOCK 10m Herts King's Walden, St Mary
17th May 1829 Louisa DIMMOCK 30 Herts King's Walden, St Mary
14th August 1829 Henry DIMMOCK 15w   Herts King's Walden, St Mary
22nd March 1836 George DYMOCK inf Herts King's Walden, St Mary

IGI marriage
WILLIAM DIMMOCK
Spouse:  LOUISA SHARP
Marriage:  02 DEC 1820   St Mary, Hitchin, Hertfordshire

IGI Baptisms
FRANCES DIMMOCK
Christening:  07 OCT 1821   Kimpton, Hertfordshire
Father:  WILLIAM DIMMOCK
Mother:  LOUISA

MARY DIMOCK
Christening:  27 JUN 1824   Kings Walden, Hertfordshire
Father:  WILLIAM DIMOCK
Mother:  LOUISA

ANNE DIMOCK
Christening:  30 JUL 1826   Kings Walden, Hertfordshire
Father:  WILLIAM DIMOCK
Mother:  LOUISA

:) Thankyou, thats helpful because it shows that Mary and George both died and i was wodnering what happened to them!-  it so sad to think how many babies and young children died back then.
I think what im going to have to do is order Elizabeth's death certificate like you say!  that was i might be able to work out if it is his mother or not - otherwise i dont know what to look at next really, id love to find out who williams parents were.

one thing im wondering now is if maybe William (bn 1799) was the son of Sarah Dimmock who was the Daughter of Michael Dimmock and Elizabeth (nee Forsey).  Therefore maybe Elziabeth was his grandmother - the only thing is i think ive found on the IGI the marriage of Sarah Dimmock to Jesse Hammett in 1798. which would have been before William was born :S im not really sure

base born? - thats the one i found! i dont know where to look next, the Elizabeth that was living with William and family in 1841 could have been either his mother or grandmother - Elizabeth and Micahel Dimmock has children that included a Sarah - maybe Sarah had William? any suggestions wher ei could look next?
