Hi Grant, I see you have searched for addresses before. Any chance of looking at the Newcastle Electoral Register for 144 Harbottle Street. Newcastle upon Tyne. For the year 1908. The address is on my grandfathers marriage certificate and wondered who else lived there please. Have found other houses in Harbottle Street in the 1881 census but not number 144. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.
Regards Dave.

Hello Dave
The 1907/8 and 1909/10 Wards Directory for Newcastle give Mrs M Wishart for 144 Harbottle Street , and the 1907/8 Newcastle Roll of Citizens lists Margaret Wishart.

Hi Grant, thanks for looking. I managed to find the address in the 1901 Census and no Carr's were living there then but they did have lodgers. Might have been lodging at the time of his wedding. Also see Carr is one of the names you are researching are they from Newcastle?
thanks again David.

Hello Dave
144 Harbottle Street was described in the Roll of citizens as just "House" where all the others were " Dwelling House" maybe that was because it was a lodging house .
The Carrs I have I have since discovered were actually Kerrs the parents coming from Ireland originally and moving to Glasgow then to South Shields where the name was anglicised to Carr

Grant, thanks for the info. It looks like a lodging house as in the 1901 Census Mrs Wishart is living there with her family and three lodgers all who worked on the railway.
