Census Lookup for Kettles Family from Holytown
« on: Wednesday 22 February 06 13:49 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for census information about the Kettles Family who came from the parish of Holytown, County of Lanark.

Bernard Kettles (born Ireland) married Catherine Larkin in 1870 in Bothwell, county of Lanark.  I have two entries on the IGI for her - one born Ireland and the other born Bothwell but I am not sure which one it might be!!

Bernard and Catherine had children named Jeanie (Jean or Jane), Partick born 1884 Holytown, Catherine, Lucy, Roseann and Catherine.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.....Elaine

Hi Elaine

Have found family in 1881 census @ Hil Top, Bothwell :

Bernard Kettles, aged 37 years, collier, born Ireland

Kate Kettles, aged 27 years, born Bothwell

Jane Kettles, aged 16 years, born Bothwell - result of a previous relationship for Bernard perhaps...

Bridget Kettles, aged 8 years, born Bothwell

Helen Kettles, aged 6 years, born Bothwell

Kate Kettles, aged 2 years, born Bothwell

Hi

Thanks for your reply.   They are the family I am looking for and confirm as I thought that Jane Kettles was from different mother.

Can you find an earlier census record for Bernard Kettles prior to 1881 and thereafter?

As I am a beginner - can you tell me how I can find this info and census/birth/marriage details?

Thanks for your help.............Elaine
