Thank you for the link, I've been and registered but am hesitant to ask since it does state that all queries should be for WWI and mine is for WWII, any advice about this would be welcome.

Hi everyone,

This site that Newbie told us about, have been wonderful.

http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums

Yesterday I requested photos of War Graves, and I had a message straight away from someone offering to take photos for me.  It seems a really helpful site, similar to Rootschat.

Thanks for telling us about them, Newbie !   ;D ;D

Regards,  Foz

You ever known Mary to be shy? huh well I wouldn't if I could just make it accept my post, seems I don't have the rights to post a new topic  :( - it may be because I noticed an acknowledgement in my mailbox last night about my registration, I might need to do something with it but flamin internet went down again.  >:(

I'll check again this evening and see what I can sort out, it's a great site, lots of useful information, I've been having a read  :D

Annie, all was fine after I activated the account  ;D Request been made there and also on the War Graves, good suggestion of Kev's, the cemetery isn't down the list for Germany but as you say there are a lot of photographs from there, so I have my fingers crossed.

If I have any luck I'll post it on here because I'll be as delighted as Ken with his treasure trove.

Just got from the Royal Marines his service papers, and they did'nt charge for it.

It show he was aboard HMS Repulse for a year and half, then it also shows he was aboard the famous HMS Hood for two years

He left the Hood in June 1940 - it was sunk by the Bismark in May 41

Its amazing what can come to light after all these years.
