its me again, the german connection is very early on as the name is still anglicanised in the 1780's as "wonderley" and not "wunderlich" as it known in germany.

joseph wonderley
f- francis & jane hunter
had at least 10 children one of which was -

jane elizabeth wonderley who married Thomas Hume in 1884 in m/c

there was also a theresa wonderley who married there in 1858 to charles johnson?

the joseph and mary ellen wonderley had a son JOE who emigrated to Australia in the late 1800's he was a baker with his dad. they had a girl called jane elizabeth who died before making it to a year old.

regards

Congratulations guys I really enjoyed reading this thread.

I am trying to trace an Ethel Wunderley she lived in Salford with her husband/Partner (I'm not exactly sure)
James Jackson, she had 2 children that I know about Eric and Norman Jackson

Eric was born in 1921.

Unfortunately I do not know her year of birth but I know she died around 1977. I now live in Gibraltar but am planning to visit her grave in the hope I can get more info. I have subscribed to Genes Reunited and paid for a handful of credits but now they are gone and I never found anything that was helpfull.

If Ethel fits into your tree can you please let me know?

Thank you everybody.

I think I can help with your search for Eric Jackson.  That was my fathers name and he was born in 1921.  His father was John Harold and his mother Mary Ellen.  I do not know of a brother but it was possible.  Mary Ellen died in the early 1950's, just after John Harold.

Does this help?
