BISANAY/BISANEY 1911 TORONTO CENSUS
« on: Friday 24 February 06 15:11 GMT (UK) »
I would be very grateful if the following could be looked up for me on the 1911 Toronto census, I do not know if this is surname indexed , I am looking for the following

Louis Francis Bisanay/Bisaney
and his wife Adeline/Adelaide,

they were in Toronto I believe about this time, I am desperately searching for Louis 's attestation papers where I know he has an address , I think 342 West King St but I must double check as this is from memory.

Thank you in anticipation

Louisa Maud.

WOW, now that is really strange because I have a marriage cert dated 1963 for  a child born circa 1915 presumably in Canada by the name of Violet Rita
The story is that Adelaide, at sometime, went to Canada presumed to be single at the time, I later found a marriage that took place in England July 1907 to Louis Francis Bisaney. Louis    on his attestation papers  states he was born in England 1885, I have never found anything listed either in London or on a census for him under this surname
I am absolutely stunned about the birth and subsequent death of little Retta.
The story follows up, family history tells that Adelaide returned from Canada with a child, no one knew she married Mr Bisanay/Bisaney till I found the marriage here in England, Louis was killed in action in the first world war, upon her return from Canada Adelaide remarried and Violet Rita has been known by that surname ever since.
I now know that the Bisaneys must have been in Canada till about 1918 so I am sure they would be on the 1911 census, if anyone could help me track him down on this census I would be so pleased, it would give me more details about his birth place I hope. I have for a long time thought there might have been a name change, but from what, so I was completely stuck, even putting in Louis Francis threw up a lot of births about the time Louis was born.
I have just accessed birth records in England to find the following birth entry    RETTA VIOLET BISINIA, no wonder I have been unable to trace details under that surname, I am now in the process of ordering the cert for little Retta
I am hoping to find them in Canada with Adelaide's sister, her maiden name was Coveney but I have never found a marriage.
A HUGE thank you for the info you have found for me

a shocked and much surprised

Louisa Maud

Still no luck in finding them in 1911, but still searching.  Will check under that new spelling you found.

So Adelaide had a sister here in Canada?  If so, what was her first name?

Sarah was born in 1890 in Westminster London, it might state Lambeth because she lived there as a young child.

I think she married in Canada, I don't know what her married name was but we met her daughter who had married an Elroy Taylor, they loved in Toronto but he later moved after she died, these dates I don't know. No she didn't have a brother George.

If Retta died in 1911 I feel sure her parents were in Canada as at 1911, unfortunately our 1911 census won't be opened till 2012, closed for 100 years, what a nuisance

Thanks again

I think one was Edith, it was she who married Elroy Taylor, this is really only sketchy to be honest,
