Ayr and Largos are in Ayrshire. Largs is in North Ayrshire, Ayr is in South Ayrshire. They are both on the west coast. See this Largs website http://www.largs.org/

If one has marriage details and birth details and it says...

married in Ayr, Largs

born in Ayr, Largs

What area would this be, also I am going to be looking for some kind person to do a lookup for me so I take it I would go to the Ayrshire site for my query. Thank you lots once again and for your time

Carol,

I'm not sure on this one - I'm guessing now, but I would guess that if it said "Born Ayr, Largs" then the place of birth is "Largs, in Ayrshire" - they might have abbreviated Ayrshire to "Ayr".

Can somebody do a lookup for Carol?
