Thanks for the info. I am still looking into it. I think it would have been prior to 1920's but i am not sure. Apparently it would have been my great great grandmother who had it so i would be looking around 1900 but nothing shows on the 1901 census.

My mother has just remembered that in the 1920s, the familly that ran the Cross Keys didn't live in the pub but in a house next to it. My mothers house was number 13, so their house must have been an even number - I would guess in the range 6-14 as she said the pub was opposite their house.

This might explain why the Cross keys doesn't appear on either the 1881 census or the 1901 as nobody lived there.

That's great, thanks! It gives me something to go on now. If they did not live in the pub when your mum remembers then it's possible neither did my family prior to that.
