Hi Cockneyrebel

I noticed the railways bit of your post.

Its possible that the railway Museum in York may hold archive on the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway. I know that the records of some of the smaller railway companies has been lost (they didn't know we would be looking for it 120 years later!) It might be worth contacting them directly with an enquiry about George.

Hi Nell,
I've searched ScotlandsPeople census 1851 on and marriages for Georges siblings but to no avail. I cannot even find the male members in the 1881 census, could you have a look in the Sussex census for 1851/61/71 to see if they're mentioned.
Perhaps the whole family went south?
Is Morham the same as Moreham?

Yes, same place.

I don't have access to those census - a post on the Sussex Look up board will probably be your best bet.
