« on: Tuesday 28 February 06 22:46 GMT (UK) »
thank you all for your help

elizabeth mcclinton was married to joseph brown and i know they had one son who was william brown any other kids they had i dont know they got married 14/04/1882 in maybole she was 19 and he was 28
and his father was joseph brown as well. i have elizabeth mcclinton's father & mother & all there kids. this is them and joseph is her husband at the bottom but i dont know what happend after but i will try and find out
i cant find death certificate for
elizabeth brown m.s mcclinton
born 11/11/1862 tonnachrae
married 14/04/1882 maybole
died
i have tried scotlandspeople but i still cant find a death certificate

i think elizabeth mcclinton  got married again to peter mcpherson on the 04/12/1896 in the assembly rooms in glasgow but she has changed her age to 28 and he was 21 she has the same father & mother as when she married joseph brown and he died on the 13/02/1893 and her age was then 30. and it has her when she got married to peter down as spinster and she signed it as elizabeth mcclintock. so can anyone find a death certificate from this new stuff and name i have gave you please. and on the 1901 she is on it with her husband peter and there new family and she is age 28 again so she has not aged from when she got married

Hi

Would it be possible to scan in the relevant part of the certificate (Not the whole certificate which would violate copyright), and post it here?

There are lots of small places in Wigtonshire with names like Whauphill  and Kirkinner. A look at the original might help.
The parishes are:
1941-2016
Oman in Caithness, Reside in Renfrewshire,
Roan or Rowan Kirkcudbrightshire/Ayrshire
Watsons in Kilrenny and Mortons in Edinburgh.

Hi again
Sorry about that. Must have pressed a wrong key somewhere.

Wigtonshire parishes are:
Penninghame
Kirkcowan
Wigtown
Kirkinner
Sorbie
Whithorn
Glasserton
Mochrum
Old  Luce
New Luce
Inch
Kirkcolm
Leswalt
Portpatrick
Stoneykirk
Kirkmaiden

Are any of them mentioned to narrow down your search?

Tonnachrae is shown on the current Ordnance Survey map on www.streetmap.co.uk if you input the co-ordinates 213500,558500 and check the "OS grid" marker, then search. You may need to zoom out using the control below-right of the map to get an appropraite scale of map.

On the 1890s parish map it does look more like Tonnachrac, but is not distinct.

Hi

ADP has solved the current problem but not the one about posting images.
I suggest you take a look at the Photgraphic restoration site and see the post about up-loading images. I bet at some point you will be back with another unreadable certificate.
I could give you an idea of how to do it but our resident experts make a much better, clearer job of it.

Hope you find what or who you are looking for/
