Lenham Almshouse - Help?
« on: Friday 03 March 06 15:49 GMT (UK) »
HI All,

My GGGG Grandfather John Cuckow lived in an Almshouse in Lenham for about 30 years before he died at the grand old age of 102 in 1894.  From what i can see from the census it was near The Square/Faversham Road.  Was this the Honywood/Douglas Almshouses?

What I would really love to know is are the buildings still there today?  I would really love a photo of the houses as John is one of the few people I have a photo of and feel a bit closer to him (is this strange??) and would love to see where he spent his last few years.

Also, would the Almshouses have kept any records??

Any help would be much appreciated

Lena

I have a photo of the almshouses and would be interested in receiving a copy of the photo you have of John who is my ggg grandfather. I have a drawing of him which appeared in the newspapers on the occasion of his 100th birthday, is that what you have or do you have a real photograph?

Hi,

I know this was posted a few years ago but hoping it gets through! I came across your entries when doing some research on who seems to be our common ancestor John Cuckow, I am also his GGGG Grandaughter and was wondering if I could be cheeky and see if I can get a copy of the photo/ drawing you lucky people have of him. It would be a great addition to my ever expanding tree. It is so nice to put a face to the names.

Thanks in advance

Vicky

Vicky,

I have electronic copies of the photo, if you send me your e-mail address I would be glad to pass them on; I got them through this forum.

Hi Richard,

I am new to all this, is there a way of me sending it to you without posting it on the message part?

Thanks

Vicky
