1861 Census - Gibson - COMPLETED WITH MANY MANY THANKS TO LANCS.FOX
« on: Friday 03 March 06 23:56 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for Jane Gibson (aged about 92) born Elsternwick, Jane Gibson (59) born Hedon and Mary Gibson (57) born Hedon.  On 1851 census they are all living with son/brother George Gibson but not on 1861.  I know Jane (mother) died 30/11/1861 so she should be on 1861 census, presumably somewhere in Hedon.  The 2 sisters were not married on 1851 census so I should think they stayed spinsters.  Whether they are all living together I do not know.

If someone can find them on 1861 census it would be much appreciated.

With many thanks.

Zephyr

Hello again Richard

Well, you are certainly 'plugging some holes' for me but, like all good workmen, you are digging some more for me!

Many thanks again for info.

Robert Jewson is good.  Jane's maiden name is Jewison so Robert is probably her brother - I haven't 'done' the Jewisons yet - a pleasure yet to come!

However, you have stumped me on Hannah Rawson.  I only have Jane (and her hubby Robert (they do like to keep the same names in the Gibson family)) as having had 4 children (Robert, Jane, Mary and George).  I have Robert as the eldest born 1799 but looks like Hannah was born about 1796.  Will have to do some more 'digging'.

Many many thanks - you've been great on my behalf.

With best wishes.

Janet
