Trying to find Frederick Cox b Ewell 1870.

   :D  This is in hope that Frederick Cox b 1870 Ewell was serving in a war or in the services somewhere 1888 ish - 1893 ish.
          Is there anyone with an idea where I could start to look?

  His father William Cox was a groom and Frederick was a cabman,
     on his son's birth and in 1901.
   I hope this will give a whereabouts for his marriage,
                                        to Margaret Howe (b 1859 Cardiff)
