Trinidad and where?
« on: Monday 06 March 06 12:19 GMT (UK) »
Has anybody done any research in Trinidad and Tobago?
I've got a lost Joseph Watkins who owned a plantaion there in the 1940's.
The Tobago Archive web site rejected my e-mail.
Knowing rootschatters somebody will have an Aunty Matilda who lives there!!!!!
Many thanks to all for help received in the pastl.

Well folks, you'll never believe it!!!! (Err said in Meldrewesque voice)

I found on an old note of 1997 vintage, an address in California of someone presumed to be a very, very, distant relative of the Watkins Trinidad branch.

I looked her up in the US telephone book and she was shown as still at the same address. I wrote to her not expecting a reply, but a week later I received a pretty card with a most encouraging message. We e-mailed and I now await the results of her interrogation of her older relis.

The point is never throw anything away however remote it seems at the time, and don't be afraid to ask.

Perhaps that should be Trinidad and Tobacco
